Starting your career is a big step, and an apprenticeship gives you the chance to learn as you go. At Ofcom you’ll be part of a team from day one, gaining practical experience, building your confidence and developing skills you can take forward in your career. You’ll also help to support work that keeps people connected, informed and protected across the UK.
You’ll earn a salary while working towards a recognised qualification, with dedicated time for training and study. You’ll also learn from experienced colleagues, contribute to real work and receive support throughout your apprenticeship.

Application Process
When you apply for our apprenticeship programme, you’ll complete a few different stages designed to help us get to know you better.
Each stage gives you the chance to show us your strengths, how you approach different situations and the potential you could bring to Ofcom.
It’s also an opportunity for you to learn more about Ofcom and decide whether we’re the right fit for you.
AI tools can help you to strengthen your application and prepare for each stage of the process. However, they should always be used responsibly.
You can use AI to:
- Improve the structure and clarity of your CV or application;
- Check spelling and grammar;
- Research Ofcom and the role; and
- Practise answering interview questions.
You should not use AI to:
- Make up or exaggerate your skills or experience;
- Complete assessments or exercises for you; or
- Submit work that is not your own.

Eligibility Requirements
Ofcom apprenticeships are open to people from all backgrounds.
To apply, you must:
Minimum age- You must be at least 18 years old when your apprenticeship starts.
Right to work- You’ll need the legal right to live and work in England throughout your apprenticeship.
UK residency- For a September 2027 start, you’ll normally need to have lived in the UK since 31 August 2024. If you have lived in the UK for less than three years, you might still be eligible. Please check the exceptions in Annex A.
Visa duration- If you hold a visa, it will need to cover the full apprenticeship without a break or renewal.
Individual roles may have additional qualification or location requirements. Please check the relevant job advert before applying.
